Description of Services
Stevens Legal Staffing is a full service professional staffing and recruiting firm, retaining highly skilled legal professionals with specialized practice experience. These professionals are employed by SLS and we place them on site at law firms and in corporate law departments nationwide. SLS professionals work on large and small projects including significant transaction work such as due diligence projects for mergers and acquisitions, investigative review for corporate investigations, and document review for record retention and disposal programs. Assignments can vary in length from a few days to several months. SLS professionals do not provide or offer legal advice or consultation at any time. All professionals are managed on-site by the client project manager. Billings are generally based on total hours staffed.

Large or Complex Litigation/Transaction Staffing - SLS ensures the smooth running of large projects by providing either an on-site manager or a project leader, depending on the size and length of the assignment. This individual serves as the liaison between the client, the temporary legal professionals and SLS. An on-site manager would typically deal with issues such as timesheets, paychecks, expenses, travel arrangements, and absences.
Litigation Support Services - Even the largest firms and corporations can be stretched to the breaking point by responding to subpoenas or other requests to produce documents. Our legal professionals will help our clients collect, review, index, and manage electronic and hard-copy documents of any kind within the tight deadlines that case management often requires, wherever and whenever you need it. SLS provides skilled professionals needed to develop and implement document management processes and procedures. Our clients benefit from understanding the scope, nature, and content of documentation before it becomes part of litigation or other dispute resolution.
Site/Space Management
Should you and all interested parties determine that a centralized work site is necessary for a matter; SLS will act quickly on your behalf to secure adequate space necessary to meet your needs. We will acquire the space at your cost to run the project wherever the litigation or transaction takes you. Our network of managed properties gives you instant access to multiple cities across the US and around the world. We’re here to support your needs wherever they arise.
National Reach
Although we are fully prepared and equipped to staff projects in cities where we do not have a physical location, we have "on the ground" experience over the past 12 years from the East coast to the West coast, and in remote areas like Baudette, MN. This affords us an advantage in knowing the issues important to candidates in those markets. From transportation issues in New York City and Los Angeles to parking issues in Houston, we understand the local nuances so important in eliminating potential workplace issues before they arise.
Recruiting for Temporary Consultants
Stevens Legal Staffing routinely acquires many candidates due to our partners' reputations alone. However, we continuously attract candidates through a multi-faceted recruitment process to ensure that our clients have the best candidates possible. SLS generally pays a higher than average wage to its employees to ensure that we attract and retain the best and brightest candidates available. Although we do actively solicit candidates from schools and other specialty career programs, we receive many candidates from referrals. Advertising represents our services in local, regional and national newspapers and magazines, which helps attract interested candidates. In addition, we advertise on the Internet and regularly attend national and regional conferences.
Candidate Selection
After recruiting a pool of candidates, SLS uses a two-tiered interview approach. The first step is an in-depth telephone assessment interview of approximately 20 minutes. The second step is a personal screening interview, covering past and current positions, experience, expectations and preferences.
Quality Assurance
SLS is committed to providing candidates who will reflect well on our clients and, in turn, their clients. We are dedicated to verifying professional licensure, educational history, work history and employment references. We check a minimum of two previous or current professional references for each consultant we hire.
